FOR SALE
Symington 1890 Victorian home made corset reproduction
small, uk 8-10
PLEASE NOTE ALL IMAGES/TEXT IS COPYRIGHT OWNED BY MYSELF AND CANNOT BE USED TO SELL YOUR OWN ITEMS BY LAW!
This was home made by myself a few years ago, sadly i cannot wear this any more and was only worn a couple of times anyway. It was made from two layers of stiff heavy corset coutil, and heavily bones with metal spiral boning and straight steel boning down the back with Gold front metal busk.
It was made from an authentic symington corset pattern around 1885, so it's taken straight from one made at that time an original vintage pattern.
It has coutil bias binding at the top & bottom, with Beige Lace around the top, hand placed eyelets. Literally everything was done by hand & sewing machine. This was particular difficult to make due to the thickness of all the layers. i even attempted the flossing with some embroidery stitches at the bottom, but it hurt my hand so much i couldn't do the rest. This took me around 1 1/2 months to make, it is a little bit weighty heavy, due to the thickness and amount of metal boning.
On the last photo you can see some slight pencil marks that won't come out, i wasn't to bothered as corsets are undergarments to be worn underneath a costumes. WOULD SUIT UK SIZE 8-10.

I am not a professional corset maker, but mum & I have made some really good quality stuff over the years, as this is home made there maybe some minor inconsistencies in the sewing. Corset coutil and metal spiral boning is very expensive to buy and it's usually very hard to find good reproductions that actually look like a period piece for price i'm starting this off at, this includes costs of all fabrics boning, lacing, the busk ect and a little bit of my time and labour to make it.
