  • Tracy's sayings
We are Christine and Tracy Fletcher and we live in Shropshire.  Just two ladies with a passion for sewing costumes from stage, theatre and film.

For us, it all started in 2006 when Tracy asked if I would make her a costume from Star Wars
Picture
I hadn't made her anything since she was little, so looking at this costume, my first            reaction was "NO WAY!!!"

It required a pattern and dying, but not only that, Tracy wanted to use exactly the same materials!  It took the best part of a year to persuade me to do something this complicated, but Tracy was already practising with dying and swatch collecting, so eventually I went to our local fabric shop and bought some cheap material and said I would "have a go".

Tracy was delighted with it, so our journey began ....

Skills that I had learnt at school back in the 70's were flushed out of my memory and we found that with our combined skills, we were able to not only make the costume, but learnt how to make jewellery and Tracy learnt how to dye and made the wig.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

We have since gone on to make all Tracy's favourite costumes, which has taken us on a journey of discovery to make all these creations come to life.  We hope that in some small way, we can encourage you to take that step and create something magical.

Don't worry about making mistakes, we all make them along the way.  Just enjoy what you do and have fun.

We aren't professional seamstresses, so constructing these costumes has taken a lot of time and error, but we get there eventually, so the methods we use aren't necessarily the correct way to do it, but it works for us.

PLEASE NOTE

WE DO NOT MAKE COSTUMES TO ORDER, NEITHER DO WE HIRE THEM OUT.  ALL OUR COSTUMES ARE MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR TRACY AND ALL ONE OFFS, WE DO NOT MAKE COPIES TO SELL
