Padme's Lake Dress Shell Style
Wig Construction
A word of warning, this hairstyle is difficult, you may need headache pills! My first experience of doing this hairstyle took me 6 weeks initially and was extremely heavy, so I eventually redid it with better results!
I used a site called - www.stormtrooperprincess.com to help with my construction
You will need to buy a good quality wig and the length needs to be very long, at least 3/4 of the way down your back for this to work.
I bought my wig from Rocky-Mountain-Beauty, trading on Eay, and it is called The Best Layered Wig and had some nice copper tones in it.

First you will need:
An old pair of tights
Wadding
Pipe Cleaners
Lilac Fabric
Hair Grips
Elastic Bands
A bought Alice Band
Lilac Potato Pearls (Ebay shop Kitzbitz)
You will need to construct a long "sausage" shape by using the tights and some wadding which needs to about approximately 8-10 inches long

Cover the bought Alice Band with lilac fabric
Next, wrap the pipe cleaners in wadding, then cover with lilac fabric, these will be of varying lengths, getting smaller the further down the "shell" wig you go. Then sew the potato beads onto each piece.
Now we can make the wig!!!! It took three of us to construct this, so you will need plenty of patience and willing helpers.
First of all, part the first section of hair on both sides. Place an elastic band on them to keep them separate.

Then pull forward another section of hair directly behind the first and place elastic bands on them to keep them separate.
Pull the remaining hair backwards into a ponytail and up as far as it will go as close to the "crown" as possible and secure with an elastic band.
Now place your "sausage" hair piece INSIDE the pony tail as far up as it will go and secure it with elastic bands.
Take the 2 sections of hair nearest the ponytail, take off the bands and pull them backwards towards the ponytail and wrap these around loosely. Get someone to hold this, while you go onto the next section

Pull the last section of hair backwards and secure UNDERNEATH the ponytail, this may need to be shortened to take some of the bulk away.

Put the first Alice Band in position. We secured ours underneath the wig to hold it there permanently. Throughout this construction, you will need LOTS of hairgrips
